"Office Assistant" (that paper guy). This is a major hole allowing any
Web site or HTML email to execute any command the user could. Details at

- 05-12-00 Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 & Office 2000 - An ActiveX
control makes it possible for a virus to spread through most e-mail systems,
even if users don't open infected attachments. The flaw is in
scriptlet.typelib. The correction script can be run directly from
Microsoft's Web Site
- 05-11-00 Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 - Internet Explorer can
easily be tricked into handing cookies belonging to other sites to any site
that asks for them. Cookies often include sensitive information. The
workaround is to disable JavaScript, which will also disable some features of
many Web sites. More detail is at
