Oct-1998 - VAR Business' annual Report Card awards are very important in the
industry because the voters are Value Added Resellers whose reputation and
livelihood depend on the quality and reliability of the products they
integrate into business solutions for their clients. IntraNetWare (NetWare
4.11 plus some Internet features) won the category for best Internet Server
Software by a wide margin for the second year straight. Lotus Notes was second.
NetWare 4.11 finished second, right behind OS/2 Warp Server, in the Network Operating System category. Artisoft's LANtastic used to place well here, but Microsoft has so thoroughly sabotaged the Win95 version, it isn't even on the list anymore. |
