It appears the Windows 2000 "Beta-3" will be widely distributed through several
programs. The top tier computer manufacturers will be preloading Beta-3 as if
it were production software. A number of large corporations are committed to
rolling it out as soon as possible, and now it appears Beta-3 will be available
to the general public at $60 per pop.
Insiders (real Beta testers) say there is no way it can be feature complete,
especially the two most important new features for corporate users:
IntelliMirror (supposed to do something similar to IBM's WSOD (WorkSpace On
Demand) which has been out for a year and a half), and Active Directory
(supposed to have capabilities similar to Novell's NDS (Novell Directory
Services) which has been out for 6 years now)
